(NEW) MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND PLAN TO ATTEND

An informational community meeting is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at 6 p.m., at the Town Hall tent on the complex next to the damaged Town Hall at 2525 Estero Boulevard. This meeting will feature a panel of representatives from FEMA, Florida Department of Emergency Management, the Town’s Utility, Building Services, Permitting, and Public Works Departments, the FMB Fire District and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

(NEW) Corner lot setbacks discussion

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m., the Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency (LPA) will discuss amendments to the building setbacks for corner lots.  The current land development code requires a corner lot to have two, 25-foot street setbacks, in addition to a side setback (15% of lot width) and a rear setback (20 ft or 25 ft). These setbacks cause some lots to be difficult to develop and owners of smaller lots often request a variance to build a reasonable size home. The LPA will discuss amendments to the development code to decrease one of the street setbacks. Attend the meeting or watch online on the Town’s website: https://www.fortmyersbeachfl.gov/.

(NEW) FEMA IS SEEKING MULTIFAMILY PROPERTIES

FEMA is requesting information from owners of multifamily properties that can be repaired to local, state and federal standards and be offered as temporary housing to survivors of Hurricane Ian.  Click here for details.
