IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS OF BEACH WATER

There is a mistake on the water utility bills mailed on Tuesday (February 2, 2010) of this week. While the charged dollar amount for the new block rate groupings was included, a written description of what the charges were for was not. Corrected replacement bills were mailed out this Friday morning (February 5, 2010).

The Town contracts with Beach Water to operate and maintain our potable water system and this includes the responsibility to read meters and generate billing data. Another company AVR, receives the billing data then prints and mails monthly bills. An error occurred in the printing.

Beach water discovered the error and instructed AVR to mail replacement bills. This was done this Friday (Feb 5, 2010) morning. Neither company realized the confusion a double billing may create for the public and therefore did not include a statement on the bill informing that the billing was a replacement for the previously mailed charges.

If you have questions or concerns, please call Beach Water at (239) 463-9914, or Town Hall, at (239) 765-0202. PLEASE DO NOT PAY BOTH BILLS.

The Town deeply regrets any confusion this error may have created for its residents and businesses.
