[ARCHIVED] Volunteers needed to help with sandspur removal this week on Big Carlos Beach

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is asking for volunteers to help this week with sandspur seed pod removal on Big Carlos Beach. 
Volunteers should just show up and wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and gardening gloves, with plenty of water for themselves to drink. A pair of sheers and some throw-away towels or fabric as a drag cloth might also be helpful to bring. Grocery bags to collect the spurs will be supplied.
What: Sandspur manual removal
When: Weds 8/4 and Thurs 8/5; 7 a.m.
Where: Big Carlos Beach, Estero Blvd, Ft. Myers Beach
Who: Anyone available, the more participation the better!
