[ARCHIVED] Fireworks show details for July 4th

fireworks

We are getting excited for the 4th of July and the annual fireworks!
Here are some details to help you plan ahead and make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
The show begins at 9 p.m. and lasts for 20 minutes.
Traffic will be heavy and so will the demand for parking, especially in the downtown/Times Square/Pier areas. The Town does have several hundred public spaces and there are some paid commercial parking lots. Read the Town's parking information. Paying for parking in Town spaces is easy with the Passport parking app.
Another option: consider riding the Lee Tran Trolley as it will run from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.
And another option: consider watching the fireworks from one of the Town's 26 beach accesses that are spread along Estero Boulevard toward the South end of the Island.
Matanzas Pass Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to oncoming traffic. Opening is subject to the direction of the Lee County Sheriff and traffic detail.
Big Carlos Pass Bridge on the south end of Estero Island will remain open throughout.

Stay connected to the Town's social media for up to the minute info as needed!
