Re-opening of short term vacation rentals may be postponed until after May 15.
Short term vacation rentals shall not be rented unless Governor DeSantis lifts the ban by Friday, May 15, 2020
Following guidelines set by state and federal officials, the Town Council of Fort Myers Beach adopted the re-opening date of Friday, May 15, 2020, for hotels, motels and timeshares in the Town. This decision can be revisited by Town Council at any time based on changes in COVID-19 circumstances or governmental directives on a local, state or federal level.
Please note that this May 15 opening date only includes vacation short term rentals if Governor DeSantis lifts the statewide ban on vacation short term rentals before Friday of this week. If reservations have been made at a vacation short term rental for May 15, three days remain for them to be cancelled with a refund.
Short term vacation rentals are defined as 30 days or less.
The Town will strictly enforce the ban order instituted by the Governor should rental owners or property managers fail to comply.
