Friends, neighbors, visitors.
If you are considering coming to Fort Myers Beach for vacation or recreation, we respectfully ask you to stay home. Normally, we welcome visitors and part-time residents to Fort Myers Beach, but during this COVID-19 pandemic, we have no alternative but to put our residents’ health and safety first. If you are a visitor already here, we urge you to return home as quickly as possible. In the interim, please follow the CDC social distancing guidelines and local regulations on closures, etc. If you are not already here, please stay home to increase the likelihood you don’t catch or spread coronavirus. Many of our short term rental agencies have already acted swiftly to limit visitors to the island. If you are a hotelier or landlord with vacation rental property, though we realize this is entirely your decision, please consider doing the same. Due to local, state and federal restrictions, our bars are closed, dine-in restaurants are closed, the beach is closed and public facilities are severely restricted. To be direct, our resources are limited. We will proudly announce when FMBeach re opens and we will welcome all with open arms. Until then, please help us to triumph over coronavirus as quickly as possible by staying home. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Anita Cereceda, Mayor
The Town of Fort Myers Beach
