Lee County is currently experiencing dead fish washing ashore due to Red Tide offshore and Fort Myers Beach is being impacted. The Black Drum fish found on the shoreline are not toxic, but the public is encouraged not to touch them. The Town’s Public Works Department is working as quickly as possible to remove the fish from the shoreline. The beach is safe for public use.
