[ARCHIVED] NOTICE: Garbage pick-up times to change on Fort Myers Beach island-wide

All Fort Myers Beach residents and businesses should have their trash, recycle and yard waste at the curb before 4 a.m. on their regularly scheduled days. This change will reduce vehicles stopping while Advanced Disposal trucks back into businesses and side streets along Estero Boulevard. This change is being done to improve traffic flow during construction on Estero Boulevard.

At the request of Lee County, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council agreed to waive the noise ordinance for early trash pick-up at its Feb. 16 council meeting. Upon completion of Segment 1 construction, the council is expected to review the waiver.

If you have any questions about the Estero Boulevard project, visit the project website at or call 239-337-1071. Questions related to garbage collection should be directed to Advanced Disposal at 239-334-1224 or Lee County Solid Waste at 239-533-8000.
