[ARCHIVED] Boil Water Notice

Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Ft. Myers Beach Florida

A boil water notice begins at 1:30 p.m., September 17, 2012 for residents and businesses in the following area:

Avenue E, I Street and Alva Drive

This advisory is due to a shutdown to repair a valve located at Avenue E and Estero Blvd as well as Alva Dr and Estero Blvd.

Therefore, as a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative bottled water may be used.

This "precautionary boil water notice" will remain in effect for a minimum of 48 hours or until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe to drink.

Updates will be posted to the Town website at www.fortmyersbeachfl.gov. Please contact Beach Water at (239) 463-9914 with any questions.
