HELP WANTED
The Town of Fort Myers Beach needs islanders to volunteer their time to fill vacancies on the Town’s advisory committees and boards. Requirements: Analytical, Decisive, Proactive and Ethical; A resident or owner of real property within the Town.
The Anchorage Advisory Committee was established to advise the Town Council on matters pertaining to the Matanzas Harbor Mooring Field. The Town desires to provide safe, environmentally sound mooring areas, provide for clear navigational fairways, improve compliance with the Clean Vessel Act, thereby improving water quality and ecosystem health of Matanzas Harbor and Estero Bay, and provide boating safety and environmental awareness education to our resident and visitor boaters.
The Audit Committee was established in accordance with Florida Law for the purpose of serving in an advisory capacity to the Town Council in the selection of an auditor to conduct the Town’s annual financial audit and for other purposes as directed by the Town Council. All members should possess a basic understanding of governmental financial reporting and auditing.
The Marine Resources Task Force exists to further the welfare of the citizens of the Town by helping to promote a better, healthful, safe and attractive community environment and to ensure that the unique and natural characteristics of our marine resources are preserved.
Interested persons should submit a letter of interest to the Town Council in care of the Town Clerk.
