Jim AtterholtJim Atterholt has dedicated much of his life to public service. He first worked as Chief of Staff in Washington D.C. and later as District Director in Indiana for a member of the United States Congress. He was then elected State Representative and served two terms as a member of the Indiana General Assembly from 1998-2002.  

After his time in the legislature, Atterholt went to work for AT&T. In 2005, he was appointed by the Governor to serve as Indiana State Insurance Commissioner.  In 2010 he was appointed by the Governor to be Chairman of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.  In 2014, Atterholt was asked to serve as Chief of Staff to the Governor where he served for two and a half years.

After 30 years of public service in Indiana, Atterholt moved permanently to Fort Myers Beach where he started and currently runs a small consulting business. Before being elected to the Town Council, he volunteered to serve on the Local Planning Agency which assists with zoning and planning issues.  

Jim is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and has been married to his college sweetheart, Brenda, for 33 years. Jim and Brenda are blessed with three grown children. They are members of Chapel by the Sea Church.
