Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Rexann spent many years working in her parent's business, Rex’s Auto Service. She received a Bachelor of Science in education from The Ohio State University and taught high school English, enjoying assisting with direction of high school musicals and coaching cheerleaders.
Working full-time while attending law school at night, she earned a juris doctorate from the Capital University School of Law. After passing the bar, she practiced as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio and later represented senior citizens and victims of domestic violence at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus.
"I am also proud of the 19 years I spent as a Magistrate in family court in Franklin County," Rexann said. "This refined my ability to listen to divergent viewpoints and sharpened my skills of mediation, leading litigants to compromise."
Rexann and her husband Carmine have been property owners on Fort Myers Beach since 1999. Along with their adopted rescue cat, Milo, they have been full time residents on Egret Street since 2011.
Previous to being elected as a Town Councilor, Rexann served as the vice chair of the Public Safety Committee. She volunteers with the Friends of the Mound House and at Chapel by the Sea in various capacities, and is chair of the Board of Presbyterian Homes of Lehigh.
