Beachfront property owners are reminded that turtle nesting season brings responsibilities for special lighting to keep turtle hatchlings from getting disoriented when they come out of the nest. Everyone is reminded to please not disturb sea turtle nests, and to pick up after themselves on the beach, including filling in holes in the sand. Mother turtles need clear paths from the water to their nesting spot and babies need clear paths to the Gulf when they hatch.

In April, Town Council adopted an ordinance with amendments to sea turtle regulations.
