Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, I spent many years working in my parents’ business, Rex’s Auto Service. I received a BS in education from the Ohio State University. I taught high school English and enjoyed assisting with direction of high school musicals and coaching cheerleaders. Working full-time while attending law school at night, I earned a JD from the Capital University School of Law. After passing the bar, I practiced as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio and later represented senior citizens and victims of domestic violence at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus. I am also proud of the 19 years I spent as a Magistrate in family court in Franklin County. This refined my ability to listen to divergent viewpoints and sharpened my skills of mediation, leading litigants to compromise.
My husband, Carmine, and I have been property owners on Fort Myers Beach since 1999, and along with our adopted rescue cat, Milo, have been full time residents on Egret Street since 2011. I previously served as the vice chair of the Public Safety Committee and served as vice mayor during my previous term as a council member for the Town of Fort Myers Beach. I volunteer with the Friends of the Mound House and at Chapel by the Sea in various capacities. I also chair the Board of Presbyterian Homes of Lehigh.
